Skill Naming Contest
I propose a skill naming contest, not unlike the Brand the Bosses contest, where players submit a name for a skill. There are 42 attributes across all 10 professions (not counting "no attribute"). Adding 1 new skill for each attribute would keep everything balanced and wouldn't upset the number of elites. In addition, it would be a nice bonus to players to have an update that gave them a new skill or few to play with.
There is a bit more to my idea, however...
Verata, Zojun, Tenai and Bonetti all have skills named after them. Why don't any of us? After all, we've saved the world on 3 occasions
My proposal is that players submit a skill name connected to a profession. Anet collects the names and places them in attributes appropriate to their intended use. They choose, say the top 5 names for each attribute, and let the players vote, maybe on the Elite Fan Sites, for their favorite names out of the ones provided.
After the 42 winning skill names are chosen, the submitter is given the option of placing his or her character name in front of the skill. So, for example. If I submitted the skill Furious Gaze, the final product could be either Furious Gaze or Belzan's Furious Gaze.
Another interesting concept would be to have a skill carry over from GW:EN to GW2 that is named after your GW character. This way your descendant character can use a skill named after one of your old characters.
I'm not sure if/how either idea would be implemented, but I for one would love to have a skill named after one of my characters.

It have to be a rather strong limit on the player names then, I wouldn't want a skill named like 'Omfg I Rulez's Furious Gaze', 'O W N E D's Furious Gaze' or other silly name.

the thing is that usually the skill names have some sort of hint of what it does, so really a skill name and skill description should go hand in hand
also, I like how only very few skills are named after a person/monster/entity
I'd rather have a skill named 'meteor storm' than 'gosu warrior keke's thing that hurts you'
